How Do You Measure a Monitor Size? (physical measurement)

To measure the monitor size accurately in inches:

  1. Turn off the monitor (to avoid glare) and remove bezel distractions if possible.
  2. Measure diagonally from the inside of one corner of the visible screen (not including the bezel) to the opposite corner. This gives the display diagonal in inches.
  3. Use a tape measure or a ruler that shows inches. Round to the nearest tenth for convenience (e.g. 15.6"). Measure diagonally Size
  4. If your device is a laptop, the manufacturer typically lists the diagonal across the screen (for example, "15.6 inch").

Physical measurement is always the definitive method. Browser estimates can be very close but sometimes vary due to browser/DPI mapping.
